Manhattan is Getting Closer to Bus Rapid Transit (Video)

Janette Sadik-Khan Explains How the Select Bus Service Works
New York City has launched a new "Select" bus service on the East side of Manhattan, bringing the city closer to having its own bus rapid transit line. The video above, which was made by our friends at StreetFilms, shows very well just how much improvements can still be made to the public transportation system of most cities: "Select Bus Service in the Bronx has produced a 20 percent improvement in travel times and enticed thousands more New Yorkers to ride the bus." I love how there's also a protected bike lane on the other side of the reserved bus lane. Via StreetFilms. See also: Opbrid Shows Overhead Fast-Charging System for Electric Buses
