The price of electric cars keep falling, and real costs are even lower than most people realize, since you save so much on fuel and get all kinds of side benefits. The latest EV to become more affordable is the Honda Fit EV, with a new 3-year lease plan that goes from the old $389 a month to $259 a month beginning June 1st, 2013.

This is with no down-payment, and unlimited mileage (unlike some competitors -- see the chart below). And if you're an existing Fit EV leaser, the new reduced lease price and unlimited mileage term also will be applied toyou going forward starting in June. Not bad.

The cherry on top is that this price includes a Leviton 240-volt charging station. All you need to pay for is installation, which is fair.

The network of qualified Fit EV Honda dealers in California, Oregon, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maryland, Rhode Island and Connecticut will expand from 36 to more than 200 by the end of June.
