Highways Don't Belong in City Centers (Video)

We Tried it and it Didn't Work
John Norquist of the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU) argues that highways don't belong in cities because they don't even do what they're supposed to when you most need it, and on top of that they pretty much kill the neigborhoods they pass through. He isn't just saying that no new ones should be built, but that many old ones should be removed to improve cities (the CNU has a list of 10 Freeways Without Futures). It's an excellent thought-provoking video, check it out! Via Streetfilms. See also: Amazing Camera-on-Helmet Bike Videos from North Vancouver, British Columbia!
