Chevrolet Spark EV to Make Worldwide Debut at L.A. Auto Show

At the End of November

The Chevrolet Spark EV, which will be GM's first 100% electric car since EV1 was crushed (the Volt is a plug-in hybrid with a gasoline engine, so not 100% electric), is slated to make its worldwide debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show at the end of November. Few details are known about the Spark, but judging by its format, it'll compete more with the Nissan LEAF than the Tesla Model S... So we can probably expect about 100 miles in range and a price in the $20-30k range. But that's just my guess (partly based on info implied in a recent Spark EV road test), we'll have to wait for the official numbers.

What I'd like GM do is something ambitious like Tesla's Supercharger network. Most automakers are playing it too safe when it comes to electric vehicles. We need more innovation and experimentation!
