2010 Pokey & Shleppie Winners Announced! Worst Bus Lines in NYC (Video)


And the Slowest Bus in New York City Is... *Drumroll*
The NYPIRG Straphangers Campaign and Transportation Alternatives
today gave out two awards for poor bus service in New York City. The Pokey is given yearly to the slowest bus line (often that is slower than walking, or than a child on a tricycle), and the Shleppie rewards the most unreliable line (buses are late, 3 buses arrive at the same time at the station and then none for a while, etc). The goal of these tongue-in-cheek awards is to highlight problems with transit and to push the authorities to fix those problems. To find out who the winners are, check out the video above.
