If you were to bike from New York to Washington, D.C. -- a total of 300 miles in five days -- what kind of bike would you choose?

I asked the approximately 150 riders who were biking with me for Brita Climate Ride NYC-DC 2011 tomorrow and the photos came pouring in. From Bianchis to DIY bamboo to bikes that double as solar chargers, 17 of the bikes, along with the riders' descriptions are shown here.

Each rider on the non-profit fundraising bike trip is expected to raise at least $2,400 -- which will go towards their choice of eight established organizations dedicated to eco causes.
