This is What Zero-Carbon Flying Looks Like (Video)


Nice Vertical Take Off!
Maybe someday we'll have large-scale commercial flight that is also zero-carbon, or at least close to it when it comes to direct emissions and manufacturing. But for now, ultra-light gliders like the one shown above, along with solar planes like the Zephyr, are pretty much the only things we have that can do zero-carbon flying. It's the first time that I see a glider quite like that, with a hole for the pilot's legs. I'm not sure if it's a DIY model or commercially made. Anyone knows? Via Robert Ebert, BoingBoing.
