Riding a Bike in the Danish Pavilion, Shanghai: Looks Like Fun
In our slideshow on the good, the bad and the ugly pavilions in Shanghai, Denmark's, by BIG architects was one of our favourites. It is a giant velodrome with a pool in the middle. In this video, the architect Bjarke Ingels demonstrates how it works; looks like a lot of fun. Warning: The Architect's Newspaper hates the Black Eyed Peas soundtrack.
Here is another video made by the architects before it opened . I find it interesting that the final result had a lot less room for bikes and a lot more for pedestrians, and a physical separation between. The concept was a lot more dangerous. via Archinect
