Retrospective: The First National Women’s Bicycling Summit (Video)

The First of Many

While in many of the most bike-friendly European cities women make up half (or more than half) of cyclists, in the U.S. that number is significantly lower. This begs the question "why?", and what can we do to make cyclist as attractive and friendly to women as it is elsewhere. One group working on that problem, among others, met at the inaugural National Women's Bicycling Summit which took place late last month alongside the Pro Walk/Pro Bike conference in Long Beach, California.

Our friend Elizabeth Press from Streetfilms attended and filmed some of the panels and interviewed some of the bike activists there.
